Chimehill at a glance for lactation consultant practices
Picking up while the desk is busyThe call is answered
Chimehill picks up as your clinic when your team can't, day, night and weekends, and works out what the caller needs.
Your diary is checked live
Before offering a time, it reads the real free slots in your practice software, using only the appointment types and practitioners you allow.
Saved, then confirmed
Bookings, moves and cancellations are saved in your practice software first. Only then does the caller hear it's done.
Your phone rings while you're with a new mother
A lactation consult takes time and attention, and new mothers often ring at odd hours when something isn't working. A missed call can mean a baby isn't fed well tonight. Chimehill answers each one with care, so you can stay with the family in front of you.
Mid-consultA quiet room. A ringing phone.
A new mother needs your attention. You can't step out to pick up.
Lunch breakThe desk is empty
You're between visits, but new mothers still ring.
After hoursLate evening and weekends
Babies don't keep office hours. Chimehill answers and books in a visit.
Answer every call without leaving the consult

Books new-mother intakes
A first lactation consult, booked as the longer appointment, into a real slot. It never asks why someone is calling.
Takes home-visit requests
Home visits are planned by you, so Chimehill takes the suburb, baby's age, best time and best number and creates a callback task.
Handles reschedules
Moves and cancels appointments after an identity check, reads your notice policy and re-checks the new slot before saving.
Covers after hours
Evenings and weekends: new mothers book or leave a message instead of ringing off. Urgent language follows your escalation script.
Loops in your team
Latch, supply, pain and tongue-tie questions go to the IBCLC with a short summary. Anything clinical stays with you.

Questions clinics ask us
Does Chimehill ask callers about feeding?
No. It only takes the details needed to make or change a booking. Feeding, latch and supply questions always go to the IBCLC as a callback.
Does it book home visits?
No. Home visits need you to plan the route and the time, so Chimehill takes the caller's suburb, baby's age and best number and creates a callback task.
What happens after hours?
Chimehill answers in your voice, books in a visit at a time you allow, or takes a message. Urgent language follows the escalation script you approved, so it's never ignored.
Can it answer Medicare or health fund questions?
No. Rebates and private health fund questions depend on the client's paperwork, so they go to you as a callback. It can still book an appointment.
Which practice software does it book into?
Cliniko, Splose, PracSuite and Nookal, live as of October 2026. Chimehill reads live availability and only says an appointment is booked once your software has saved it. Using something else? Tell us when you book a demo.
Can we keep our clinic phone number?
Yes. You forward calls to Chimehill — all calls, only overflow when the desk is busy, or only after hours — and you can change that or switch it off whenever you like.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $249 a month (AUD) for 100 calls; the recommended plan is $379 for 200 calls. Calls past your allowance are $2.70 each. Every plan starts with 14 days free and there are no lock-in contracts.
Will callers know they're talking to an AI?
Yes. Chimehill introduces itself as your clinic's virtual receptionist on every call, and a caller who asks for a person always gets your configured fallback — a transfer or a callback.
Every call deserves an answer.
