Chimehill at a glance for allied-health clinics
Picking up while the desk is busyThe call is answered
Chimehill picks up as your clinic when your team can't, day, night and weekends, and works out what the caller needs.
Your diary is checked live
Before offering a time, it reads the real free slots in your practice software, using only the appointment types and practitioners you allow.
Saved, then confirmed
Bookings, moves and cancellations are saved in your practice software first. Only then does the caller hear it's done.
One receptionist, every kind of practitioner
An allied-health clinic rarely has one appointment type. A physio runs 30-minute follow-ups, a psychologist runs 50-minute sessions, an OT does home visits, a dietitian takes an hour for a new client. Chimehill answers across all of them, offers each practitioner's real free slots and keeps the rules you set for every type.
Mid-sessionDoors closed. Phones ringing.
Across physio, psych, OT and speech, every practitioner is with someone.
Lunch breakThe desk is empty
Reception steps away, but new clients still ring.
After hoursThe clinic is closed
People ring after work. Chimehill answers and books them in.
Answer every call across every practitioner

Books the right practitioner and length
Physio initial assessments, psychology intakes, OT reviews, speech sessions, dietitian consults: each at the length you set, into a real slot with the practitioner the caller asks for.
Handles reschedules
Moves and cancels bookings after an identity check, reads your notice policy and re-checks the new slot before saving.
Answers practice questions
Fees, hours, parking, telehealth and what to bring, from answers you approve for each practitioner type. If a question isn't in your notes, it says so.
Covers after hours
Evenings, weekends and public holidays: callers book or leave a message instead of ringing off.
Loops in your team
Clinical questions, NDIS and Medicare queries, home-visit requests and anything outside your approved answers go to the right team member as a callback with a summary.

Questions clinics ask us
Which allied-health specialties does it cover?
Physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy, podiatry, massage therapy, acupuncture, psychology, exercise physiology, speech pathology, occupational therapy and dietetics. It's the same receptionist in each, set up for your appointment types and the practitioners you choose.
Can it handle different appointment lengths for different practitioners?
Yes. Each practitioner's appointment types and lengths are set up once in your software, and Chimehill books only those types in only those slots. A new client never lands in a short follow-up, and a physio follow-up never books into a psychology hour.
Does it answer NDIS, Medicare or health-fund questions?
No. Plan and rebate questions depend on the caller's paperwork, so they go to your team as a callback task. Chimehill still books the appointment if the caller wants, and notes what the question was about.
How is this different from an allied-health answering service?
A traditional allied health answering service takes messages and passes them on. Chimehill answers the call, confirms who's ringing and books the appointment — the whole reception job, not just a note. Clinics that have outsourced physio reception as a stop-gap tend to use physio receptionist outsourcing for the admin and keep clinical calls with the practitioners; Chimehill does the same, with the booking written straight into your software.
Where is caller data stored?
Identity is checked before any booking is revealed or changed, and summaries stay administrative — no clinical detail, no reasons for visit. The practice sets what Chimehill can confirm and to whom.
What happens if a caller is in distress or describes a clinical problem?
It never assesses or advises. Any distress or risk language follows the escalation script your clinicians approved, and clinical questions go to the right practitioner as a callback. Bookings and messages are the only things it does on the call.
Which practice software does it book into?
Cliniko, Splose, PracSuite and Nookal, live as of October 2026. Chimehill reads live availability and only says an appointment is booked once your software has saved it. Using something else? Tell us when you book a demo.
Can we keep our clinic phone number?
Yes. You forward calls to Chimehill — all calls, only overflow when the desk is busy, or only after hours — and you can change that or switch it off whenever you like.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $249 a month (AUD) for 100 calls; the recommended plan is $379 for 200 calls. Calls past your allowance are $2.70 each. Every plan starts with 14 days free and there are no lock-in contracts.
Will callers know they're talking to an AI?
Yes. Chimehill introduces itself as your clinic's virtual receptionist on every call, and a caller who asks for a person always gets your configured fallback — a transfer or a callback.
Every call deserves an answer.
